Rich, deep, and complex, this Syrah is also low in histamines, low in sulfites, and third-party screened to ensure it is pure of any trace pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides.
Despite it being a bold wine, it is very smooth in tannins and shows a freshness due to how the wine is made using whole berry fermentation. Grapes are sourced from a sustainable vineyard in the Northern California Sierra Foothills American Viticultural Area (AVA).
With notes of stone fruit, tart cherry, and a beautiful peppery finish, the wine is excellent paired with hearty dishes like pasta, braised meats, roasted vegetables, pizza, and savory cheeses.
Awarded Double Gold Medal in 2025 Wine Competition!
Our Sol Rei 2023 Syrah received the elite Double Gold Medal award at the 2025 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, garnering a Gold Medal from each judge on the panel, unanimously agreeing on the excellent taste, craftsmanship, and aroma.
We target a brix of 24.5 to 25 for picking the Syrah grapes - any lower and there is a risk of green vegetative overtone and any higher creates excessive alcohol and overpowering jamminess. The wine is aged in neutral oak for a minimum of 10 months before bottling. To ensure optimal freshness, from the time the grapes are picked at harvest to when the winemaking process begins, it is approximately four hours.
