Awarded Editor's Choice by Wine Enthusiast, our Private Reserve Red Blend is made in the style of Pinot Noir. Elegant and medium-bodied, this wine is fruit forward with smooth tannins and balanced acidity with notes of pomegranate, plum, and earthy undertones.
Crafted from rare Mencía grapes (90%) with Petit Sirah (10%), our Private Reserve Red Blend offers the elegance and finesse often sought in fine Pinot Noir, complemented by a rich, layered texture and subtle influence from neutral French oak aging.
Grapes sourced from a sustainable vineyard in the Northern California Alta Mesa American Viticultural Area (AVA). Third-party laboratory tested to be free of pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides.
Given the wine’s medium weight, It is delicious without food or it makes a great pairing for roasted chicken, savory cheese, and pork. The wine won’t overpower the food, while the balanced acidity cuts through the richness.

Judged against may prestigious wines in the 2025 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, our Sol Rei 2023 Private Reserve Red Blend won top honors, receiving a Gold medal based on its outstanding taste, craftsmanship, and aroma.
Our target brix for the Mencia grapes is 23 which creates a full fruit flavor without any hint of prunes or excessive jamminess. We use a whole berry fermentation process that brings out the bright taste, along with creating smooth tannins, and produces very low histamines. To ensure optimal freshness, from the time the grapes are picked at harvest to when the winemaking process begins, it is approximately four hours.
